To create a new STA (Skill/Training/Accreditation) go to Actions > Skills (dropdown) > Skills > Available STA's > Add > STA.
Select the type of STA to add. There are 8 choices and they are:
- TBA - A catch all type for employee to request training that has been formally added as an STA. You could add different TBAs for different groups of training e.g. online and residential or sales and technical
- Accreditation - when certification of competency, authority, or credibility is presented by a governing body
- Training - The most common type where the STA which probably doesn't expire but may need refreshed at some point
- Skill - an informal record of someone's natural or self learnt skill or ability e.g. equipment, software, people etc
- Knowledge - an informal record of someone's knowledge e.g. of a process, client, location etc
- CPD - Continued Professional Development - one to be setup for each profession to record their respective CPD obligations
- CRB - Criminals Records Bureau - recording the CRB check
- Permit - recording a time specific license
Once the type is chosen the fields specific to that type are shown beneath. Complete as much of the information as you wish or that seems appropriate. Some key fields:
Counts as work document - Tick if this STA is essential for someone to be able/allowed do their job
Open to External Clients - If this STA should be open to add your clients to who are listed in the Contact Address book Module (in Directory > Companies). This is useful if you want to keep track of which clients have had what training (that you offer as part of your service)
Validity Period Vs Refresher Requirements - In some cases an STA will have a very rigid validity period whereas the refresher section allows for a more relaxed approach which also includes the follow on STA
Next Event - gives a section to record the specifics of the training event itself but this is a simple precursor to an event management addition
Superseded - allows you to take an STA out of general availability by adding a replacement
