Starting to use training couldn't be easier. Firstly you have to turn it on in Admin > System Functionality (dropdown) > Set Functionality Required and tick 'Skills/Training/Accreditation'. This will make it available throughout the menu structure for all staff. You must also appoint one or more training Administrators to add the courses and manage the requests. To do this go to People > Employee name > Person (dropdown) > Functionality Roles and add 'Skills/Training/Accreditation Admin' to the employees list of Roles. This needs to be done even if the employee is a Client Admin.
The Skills/Training/Accreditation Admin should add the training courses that are commonly used in your organisation. This can be done in Actions > Skills (dropdown) > Skills > Available STAs > Add > STA. These are the courses that staff members can request or record that they currently have. If an employee wants to request training that isn't specifially listed then they should choose the TBA type. This can be changed to another one once it has been added. You can think of these training courses as templates and they are called STAs in EWA.
When an employee requests an STA it creates a record against that employee. That request can be - I want to do this training or I have this training. Depending on the type of training it will be waiting to be arranged, waiting to be validated, waiting to see if its passed, waiting to be granted etc and is called a TCA.
